What did I do?
Prep:
Spritz Cucumber Crush Cardstock with rubbing alcohol and run through the Big Shot in the Cable Knit Dynamic TIEF; leaving 1 ½ inches out of the folder. Set aside to dry. Rub the Embossing Buddy over the Very Vanilla scrap. Stamp with border and greeting from the Rose Wonder Stamp Set; heat set. Stamp two sides of the Watermelon Wonder card base with a part of the Make a Medallion Stamp Set using Watermelon Wonder pad. Stamp bottom edge of Cucumber Crush card stock with Cucumber Crush pad.
Assemble:
Attach the Cucumber Crush layer to bottom left edge of the card base with Tear & Tape adhesive. Pop up the greeting with Dimensionals.
TIPs:
Spritz cardstock with alcohol or water before using Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folders to get a crisper look to the cardstock. Attach them with Tear & Tape adhesive to ensure it adheres to the next layer.

2017013 Sympathetic Thoughts

This easy to make card can be used for either Thinking of You or as a Sympathy card. In addition to creating this feminine card, you can also create this easily in male or gender neutral. Sponging the edges with tone on tone color helps the CSP stand out against its matching cardstock layer.
TIPs: Any label can have an edge matching it by cutting two additional labels. Cutting the first additional label from corner to corner and repeating on the same piece. The second additional label may be cut either corner to corner or in half longwise. Arrange the additional pieces on the back of the original label to frame it.

2017012 Engagement Cake

This week’s really pretty card was made for a wedding shower for a young man I’ve known for a number of years. The young man has an old soul so I knew a traditional wedding cake would make him smile. When asked the color theme the Mother of the Groom told us a pale blush and mint. My sister and I both looked at each other and said, “Blushing Bride and Mint Macaron” at the same time laughing. So this was what my brain came up with. I chose to use a retired textured impressions embossing folder. I’m sorry I couldn’t remember its name; but I loved it.
